Who I am
This website is run by Matthew Hopkins, trading as Matthew Hopkins Consultancy, 4 Bron y De, Ebbw Vale, NP23 6NX. I am the controller of the personal data described here. You can contact me at matthew@matthewhopkinsconsultancy.com or on +44 7486 511 469.
What I collect and why
Enquiries: if you contact me by the form, email or phone, I collect your name, contact details and anything you tell me about your business. I use it to reply, discuss what you need and, if you go ahead, provide a quote and my services. My lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, and my legitimate interest in running my business.
Website analytics: with your consent, I use Google Analytics and Squarespace analytics to see how people use this site, such as pages visited, device type and approximate location. My lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. If I start using advertising or remarketing cookies in future, I will ask for your consent first and update this policy.
Clients: if you become a client, I keep the records I need to deliver the work and meet tax and accounting obligations. My lawful basis is performing our contract and legal obligation.
Who I share data with
Squarespace hosts this website and stores form submissions. Google provides analytics. My email provider handles email. They process data on my behalf. Some of these providers are based outside the UK, and transfers rely on approved safeguards. I do not sell your personal data.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for 12 months. Client records are kept for 6 years after the work ends. Analytics data is kept for 14 months or less.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how I use it, or to move it. You can withdraw consent at any time. To do any of this, contact me using the details above.
If you are unhappy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If I change this policy, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
